The current Babala version is 0.4.0. If you're using an earlier version, be forewarned that upgrading to 0.4.0 will cause the deletion of any existing game scores, level scores and Saved partial games. Pavel relays his apologies for this his oversight. Further refinement was made to some key scoring parameters. The benefit is that version 0.4.0 incorporates Web high score posting, so the scoring system is now likely cemented. Please be forbearing, as this is beta (in testing) software: any version lower than 1.0.0 is pre-release.

Babala relies on a greater freeware library, GTK+ 2, for some of its routine functionality. GTK+ is a perfectly safe well-known toolkit that is often bundled with freeware (eg. GIMP, X-Chat, Gnapster etc.). Maybe you already have the package on your machine — you might look to see if it appears in the list under Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs. Or obtain GTK+ from this Web address: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html. <--- Clicking the link opens the cited page in a new window and from there, click the Select Mirror/Download link for the GTK+2 package specific to your Windows version. The file is approximately 3.5 MB. After the transfer finishes, double-click the downloaded file to launch its install. Key Enter or click Next wherever appropriate to complete standard installation. Once installed, the GTK+ libraries only sit idle on your hard drive until called upon... they don't load automatically at system Startup time nor in any way burden your PC.

Double-click the Babala Install program that was downloaded in Step 1. Choose the language, accept the license agreement, proceed through the few obvious steps and you'll have the game ready to play, shown in your Start menu and on your Desktop. Also note: you may need to maximize Babala's window (click the little square figure, top-right) on its very first launch, in order to make the bottom readouts appear from beneath the taskbar.
