Papalot, a new game in development |

Pavel has created a new strategy game for browser (a Java applet), with the working name of Papalot. The concepts are well formulated but the game is only now just born and is still rudimentary. As of this writing, there are only 10 levels in the contest, on a featureless playing field. Various field features are planned: swamps, hills, etc. You can try out this new game right now; click here.
Pavel is looking for cooperation from a talented amateur 2D graphics designer. This time he needs help with Papalot, but he plans other games as well. Perhaps eventually the graphics for
Babala could be improved. Pavel needs better graphic skills than he himself possesses. If you have such skills and are willing to contribute to these freeware game projects, then please contact Pavel to exchange ideas and proposals. Pavel's contact info is listed here. Thank you.

Version 0.4.0 Released |
Wednesday, 23 August 2006 |
On this date is released the next beta version of the Babala game. Its main improvement is that it enables users to post their record high Game scores and Level scores to the Worldwide Web. Also, the scoring parameters were further tweaked and perfected, so the score files from earlier versions have to be discounted as obsolete. There were a few minor bug fixes as well, including resolution of that troublesome issue where time bomb numerals sometimes failed to render. We hope you enjoy the challenge of Babala 0.4.0! |

The game is played online using a Web browser, and the top 20 high scores achieved are recorded, along with those players' names. Try your hand at it and see how well you stack up.

Review by the-underdogs.org |
Thursday, 14 July 2005 |
On this date was published a very favorable review of the Babala game at HOTU, Home Of The Underdogs
the game is now rated a "Top Dog". You can find that review here. Some choice excerpts from it: one of the best turn-based brainteasers .. great and fiendishly difficult .. excellent game concepts and level designs.
HOTU cross-links suggest that Babala may be somewhat reminiscient of the game DROD (Deadly Rooms Of Death). But one of our compatriots here is familiar with DROD, and he asserts that Babala is superior
in a class by itself.
